‘Two and a Half Men’ season 12, episode 8 review: Louis’ first Christmas with Walden, Alan

It begins -For its final holiday episode of “Two and a Half Men,” the CBS sitcom took what we would say is a pretty predictable route. After all, the show over the course of its half-hour Thursday night featured a story of a drunk Santa, Evelyn sleeping him, nearly killing him, and then putting Walden and Alan into a major pickle.

Why? The guys wanted to prove to Louis that Santa was real, and they had went through a lot of trouble to make things happen. Mostly, the story was ridiculous, over-the-top, and basically what we had on the show every other Christmas that we have seen over the years.

Yet, somehow, it still mostly worked within the vein of what this show is. After Walden and Alan’s plans collapsed completely, it made a little bit of sense to have the person responsible for saving Christmas be none other than Rose, who turned up for the first time this season earlier in the episode. Once again, this is further proof that while she is completely insane, she does have a heart somewhere in there.

Moving forward, one of the real questions for this show is if Rose turns up again, can she top this? We don’t think that she can, unless Charlie happens to turn up again in some way, and she and him can clash. Rumor has it that Charlie Sheen will be returning for the series finale, but who knows in what form he is going to appear?

For now, just enjoy this holiday episode. It’s not going down in TV history, but it also was far from terrible. Grade: B-.
