‘Blue Bloods’ season 5 spoilers: First details on ‘Baggage,’ Danny’s challenge
Clearly, CBS is wasting no time at all when it comes to unveiling some of the goods on the upcoming fifth season of “Blue Bloods.” After all, look at some of the details we have now for “Baggage”!
This installment is the second one of the new year, which is going to air on Friday, January 9. This turns out to actually be a competitive evening, as well, as both “Grimm” and “Constantine” will be back, “Glee” is returning to Fox, and The CW is premiering “Hart of Dixie.” Granted, not much is going to impact this show, given that this is solid as a rock in terms of fan following.
As for what you can expect to see in this installment, the official synopsis below makes it clear that there is a difficult case when it comes to Army veterans being suspected as culprits in a robbery. Meanwhile, some other characters will have some moral dilemmas of their own:
“Danny is conflicted when he learns that a group of highly trained Army veterans are responsible for a robbery. Meanwhile, after a bomb scare in a subway turns out to be the work of a famous street artist, Garrett and Gormley argue about how to deal with the fallout.”
Ultimately, what makes this show so different from the others out there mostly is how the case is really not the issue here. Instead, it is about the characters, and some of the ethical issues they address. In many ways, the show is a microcosm for the real world.

I don’t care if Donnie Wallberg leaves. Had enough of his hot temper, his never ending scowl, disobeying his superiors. I really like his wife, Linda, and always like Tom selleck. Blue bloods one of the only shows worth watching !

I find the topic of the proposed discussion somewhat confusing. i.e. Veterans committing crimes and how do I feel about it. The fact that you placed such a question on the table is ridiculous. Of course veterans commit crimes . . . just as non-veterans commit crimes. In our current era where we have a Whitehouse inhabitant who hates or at least disrespects the military and a Congress who is too occupied feathering their own beds to try to help returning veterans, it is a wonder we don’t see more veteran crime. Add in PTSD and a volatile mix begins to gel. Our country should be ashamed that the inhabitant of the Whitehouse intentionally skipped laying a wreath at the grave of the unknown at Arlington Cemetery on Memorial Day and then takes his family on world-wide tours where he and his wife proceed to bad-mouth our country. Yes – veterans have been known to commit crimes but all things considered, they practice amazing restraint. Bottom line is this though: a crime is a crime and the perpetrator should expect appropriate punishment . . . even a President and Attorney General who facilitate selling guns to drug cartels ultimately causing Border Patrol agents to be killed with those guns. No one should be above the law!
