‘Mistresses,’ ‘Resurrection,’ ‘Devious Maids’ heading to Hulu

It could happen -Given that streaming seems to be the way of the future, we find more and more news related to series pickups to be fascinating and even at times important to the future of shows.

With that in mind, we are pleased to report today that a trio of ABC Studios shows have been added to Hulu Plus, which will now be their exclusive streaming home. Per Variety, these shows are “Mistresses” season 1, “Resurrection” season 1 and 2 (so far) and the first season of “Devious Maids” (which actually airs on Lifetime).

The timing of this announcement really could not be better, mostly because you are looking at a situation here where these shows could benefit from some binge-watching over the course of the holidays. This is when there are fewer new programs on, and many a bored person either waiting to visit loved ones, or off work with little responsibility.

As for whether or not this could help some of these shows, it may be a wait-and-see approach for some. There is time for viewers to catch up on “Mistresses” and “Devious Maids,” but we feel for the former, the real test is going to be finding out if viewers can enjoy the show without Alyssa Milano in the cast next season.

For “Resurrection,” we feel like the show is unfortunately too far gone right now. While its first season was pretty great, things got a little muddled in season 2, and the ratings have taken a nosedive to the point where they are now even lower than “Revenge.” Its season will end early next year.
