‘Mad Men’ season 7 notes: Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks, and various roles
While there may not be new episodes of “Mad Men” airing on AMC until the spring, we can at least tell you a thing or two right now regarding how some of the cast members are looking ahead at their future.
When it comes to Christina Hendricks, we now know with some certainly just where she is heading off next: To Showtime. She has signed on for Cameron Crowe’s comedy pilot “Roadies” for the network, which revolves mostly around the traveling crew for a popular rock star. Specifically, the actress will play Shelli, the production manager for the band. Luke Wilson and Keisha Castle-Hughes are also a part of the cast.
While we have not loved everything that we have seen Crowe do over the years, when he is on his game, he is probably better than the majority of people out there. We’ll have to see how this turns out, provided that it makes it to air.
As for Jon Hamm, we at least know right now where he is not going to end up anytime soon: Playing a superhero. Speaking to the Radio Times, the actor cited huge commitments and demographics as some of the reasons he’s not interested in being in any of these sort of projects:
“The deals that they make you do are so draconian. And, of course, you are signed on for not only the movie that you are signed on for… but at least two more that you haven’t read and you have no idea what they are going to be and all the crossover ones you are going to have to do. For me to sign on now to do a superhero movie would mean I would be working until I am 50 as that particular superhero.”
