‘The Mentalist’ season 7, episode 4 preview: ‘Black Market’ features Simon Baker’s Jane vs. sickness

While Patrick Jane has taken on many a complicated case on “The Mentalist” over the years, the new episode of the show airing on CBS next week is going to focus on one of his most difficult opponents to date: Himself.

The fourth episode of this season is entitled “Black Market,” and the story here is going to be a pretty interesting one for Patrick Jane. After one, his illness is going to cause him to be away from a case physically, but still do what he can in order to use his famed mental prowess to get answers.

If you do want to get some further news in terms of what you can expect, you can see them in the official synopsis below:

“The team investigates a murder linked to a counterfeit diamond operation, but an illness forces Jane to direct his colleagues from the office as he recuperates.  Meanwhile, Abbott is concerned that transgressions in his past could harm his wife’s chance to obtain a prestigious job in Washington, D.C.”

It will be nice to see something more from Abbott, but in general, it is just going to be nice to have a case that sounds in theory pretty fun. Now that Red John is over and Jane and Lisbon are together, we want to see the show focusing on some stories that just allow it to explore some character dynamics.
