‘The X Factor’ final results: Was Andrea Faustini, Ben Haenow, or Fleur East eliminated?
While Saturday marked the first part of the “X Factor” final, the reality was that only two of the remaining artists were going to make it to the final results on Sunday.
Who was going to be eliminated? If we were going here based only on past results, then it seemed pretty assured that we were going to be saying goodbye to Andrea Faustini tonight … even though he performed very well tonight and actually did something a little more uptempo with Ella Henderson. At this point, we have received no signs that either Ben Haenow or Fleur East have ever been anywhere close in danger of going home.
Before we got to some of the results, there was of course typical finale silliness, including performances by celebrities, random montages, and of course the typical honoring of all the camp acts. What we were a little surprised by is that suddenly the show is making Chloe Jasmine into a joke act, when we actually thought she was rather good, and was only really done in by one weak performance of a song that was not right for her.
In the end, we spent a good two hours on this episode, just to find out that in the end, the person eliminated was exactly who we thought would be eliminated in Andrea Faustini. No doubt, he will still find some success singing in performance halls or back in his home country of Italy. Still, Ben and Fleur probably have better odds of commercial success after the show … in particular the latter. We just feel for him that he could not have Mel B there with him at the very end. It’s no offense to guest judge Tulisa; she just hasn’t been there for the full journey.
