‘Parks and Recreation’ series finale wraps; Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, more say goodbye

The latest -

To say that the past few days were emotional for the cast and crew of “Parks and Recreation” is certainly an understatement. After seven seasons on the air, NBC’s little-engine-that-could comedy finally wrapped filming on Friday, and did so with just about as much emotion as you would expect.

If you look below, you can get some sweet messages from Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Billy Eichner, and so many others who all ended up playing a big part on the show. These folks became a family over the course of their time filming in Los Angeles, and with that in mind, this could not be an easy thing for them to say goodbye to.

Still, we know that many of them do have plans to take on a variety of other great projects. Pratt, for example, is now basically a movie star thanks to his “Guardians of the Galaxy” role, while Aziz has his standup career. Nick Offerman has been offered a role on the second season of “Fargo,” but it is not entirely clear yet if he is going to accept it.

Something else we do have to do here is something that we often do not even remotely consider: Thanking the network. Without NBC being on board this show, we really have a hard time envisioning that this show would ever be anywhere near this successful, mostly because they kept it on the air even when the ratings were not always the best, and through some of what we felt were some early bumps in the road before it really found itself.
