ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: Will Charlotte return in winter premiere?

It makes sense at the moment to bring back Charlotte to “Revenge,” even if it is for just a super-short period of time. What’s the reason for that? It really just boils down to the sole fact that her brother is dead. Given that there is probably a funeral coming up, why wouldn’t we see Charlotte present there, paying her respects?

Well, this show is not always one that prides itself on making sense. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Sunil Nayar insinuates that Charlotte is still going to be gone when the show comes back in January, though there is seemingly a plan to add her back to the fold eventually:

“She’s someone we keep talking about … But Charlotte won’t be returning just yet. We want to make sure if we bring her back, it’s in the right way to tell the right story.”

The show could pull this off without angering too many fans, but we do feel like it is going to be some tricky business for them. What they will have to figure out here is how to do this without angering too many people, and then justifying it when Charlotte does return. Maybe nobody contacts her and she never knows the truth (which would be the easiest sell), or maybe something happens to her while at treatment that is so crazy, it makes her really think about her future.
