‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 10 review: Death is not always supernatural
Tonight, “The Vampire Diaries” celebrated Christmas, but at the same time, made us extremely nervous. We had heard before the episode aired that a major character was going to die. Thanks to this, we spent at least a decent percentage of this episode following along the stories, and worrying about who was going to fall.
This became especially nerve-wrecking as we started to see more and more of Kai trying to get some power back, and wreck a little bit of havoc to all of those close to him.
There was some good news in here as well, though: Some of the characters can finally head home! This means something closer to normalcy, or at least as much normalcy as we’ve come to expect with this show.
Now, the sad news: Caroline’s mom has an inoperable brain tumor. She is not actually dead yet, so maybe this was not the hugely-spectacular death scene that many thought we were going to see going in. Still, Caroline has to face now the possibility of losing her mom, and this is a sign that even on a supernatural show sometimes where all sorts of crazy things happen, not everything can be taken care of.
What struck us the most at the end of this was largely that there was not really that much movement, at least in we are still waiting to see what happened to Bonnie. We know now that Kai is on the loose and Enzo is still alive, so that alone should make things interesting. Grade: B.
