‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 11 preview: Hook and Rumpelstiltskin talk things out
Sunday night’s “Once Upon a Time” winter finale is going to be a heck of an interesting one, especially when you think about just what Rumpelstiltskin’s endgame is now going to be.
After all, the endgame for “Heroes and Villains” seems to be mostly about trying to figure out if there is a way for this character to escape Storybrooke, and continue his world domination without any further hurdles. There is no longer a Snow Queen for him to worry about. However, he does have to be concerned about someone else: Anna.
This is why Robert Carlyle’s character makes his demand to hook pretty simple in the sneak peek video below: Do what you can to ensure that Anna does not enter the shop. Then again, he doesn’t really give Hook a choice.
For Hook, we imagine here that the motivation has to be something as simple as trying to find another way to get out of this situation. At this point, there is really no other reason for the character to even be doing what Rumpelstiltskin is asking of him. We suppose that Rumple is relying on Hook having this hope, even if he has already made his own personal intentions to kill him just about as clear as clear could be.
We do expect at least some sort of cliffhanger at the end of this episode for the second part of the season, which for the time being, we expect to also feature Ursula, Cruella de Vil, and Maleficent as the primary villains. Who knows how these three will integrate themselves?

Hook’s doing what Rumple says because Rumple has his heart – the person whose heart is taken away has to do what the person with the heart wants them to do. Like Graham with Regina. Even if they don’t like it. But I do agree, he’s probably trying to figure out a way to make it out alive…although the prospect is getting dimmer by the hour.
