‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Blair Underwood to bring in Melinda May’s past
The past two days have set the internet on fire with “Agents of SHIELD” talk, but in all honesty, the majority of it has still revolved around Skye and the revelations about her past and her lineage. The Inhumans are here! Well, at least one of them is.
With this article, let’s get into something a little bit different, but still important for the character of Melinda May. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blair Underwood is going to recur during the second part of the season, which returns on March 3, in the role of Dr. Andrew Garner, May’s ex-husband. The two do not exactly have the best relationship.
Unfortunately, that is all that we can say at the moment. “Agents of SHIELD” does tend to be very hush-hush with most of their casting, and this carries over well here. Maybe he is a member of Hydra and someone to be feared; or, maybe he is just at the center of a very personal story for the May character. While we’re sure that the role is a meaty one (there is little other reason for Underwood, given his resume, to take it), it does not necessarily make him into a complete killing machine or someone who opposes SHIELD.
Given how much more of the story there is to tell this season, we can only hope that there is even more in the way of casting news soon. Also, we’d be down with hearing that Adrianne Palicki is now a series regular for playing Bobbi Morse. Just thought we would throw that one out there.
