Well … not exactly. There is sadly no new episode of “NCIS” on the air tonight, and instead, you are going to have to wait until Tuesday, December 16 to really check out “House Rules” in full. That is a pretty long wait for this time of the year, especially when you consider that this is a show with a 24-episode order.
With that being said, is this sort of three-week wait in-season really that out of the ordinary? Not exactly. This is the third time in the past four seasons that there has been this long of a hiatus in the November – December months, and obviously the network has figured out something here that works for them. They recognize most likely that early December is not a time that most who watch ratings follow that closely, but they want to ensure that there is a holiday episode up somewhere close to Christmas. We feel like had they aired “House Rules” this week or last week, it would’ve been a little too far from December 25. Not only that, but then they would have an incredibly-long hiatus between this and the show’s return in the new year.
With all of this being said, it is possible that there will be a new promo released later tonight. An “NCIS” repeat is airing at a special time following “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” at 9:00, so maybe something will air following this.
