‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 winter finale spoilers: A cryptic Rumpelstiltskin line

There have been many things that we have learned as of late on “Once Upon a Time,” but one of the clearest ones definitely ties back into the character of Rumpelstiltskin: This is not a good man. Remember all of that hope you had that he was changing? Well, throw most of that in the garbage.

Even when it comes to Belle, he has shown a continued willingness to lie to her at any point it is advantageous for him to do so. What’s his endgame now? As crazy as it sounds, it seems as though controlling much of the world is part of it now that he has so much power to wield.

As for his wife, the biggest thing to remember right now is that she thinks still that he is a good man for one; the Twitter tease below from co-creator Adam Horowitz is proof of that.

Does Robert Carlyle’s character love her? We feel like he does, but when the dust settles, we are still talking here about priorities. For some reason or another, the man continues to hold world domination far above love, maybe because that is the only way that he has convinced himself he can feel important. If only there was a support group in Storybrooke for the power-hungry, or he was prepared enough to pay Dr. Hopper a visit. Maybe then, things could really change for him!

As they are, we feel like we are stuck in a holding pattern for these two characters, waiting for the next shoe to drop. We know that it is happening eventually, and the question now is when.
