‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: Arya’s getting a new costume!

For those of you wanting to see a brand-new side of Arya Stark when “Game of Thrones” season 5 premieres on HBO this coming spring, we come right now bearing good news: We’re going to see her don something different for a change! Will it be something that does not force her to dress like a boy? Only time will tell.

What we can at least share with you for now are some of the quotes that were uttered on the subject.  Speaking with New York Magazine while at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, designer Michele Clapton confirmed that Maisie Williams is finally going to get the chance to wear something new:

“She finally got a few frocks! She was like, ‘Yeah! Yeah! I can’t believe it!’ in the dressing room … She’ll never go back to [the old outfits]. She was like, ‘I want to set fire to it! I want to throw it in the water!’” 

Given that Arya is heading somewhere new, it only made sense that she would have a costume that matches. This is the latest of many makeovers that we have seen the female characters on this show underdo. Dany had a major shift in costume when she started to become more of a conqueror, while Sansa Stark underwent a significant transformation at the end of last season, as well. “Darth Sansa” was the name that started to float around the internet.

The new season of “Game of Thrones” should be done filming at around this point, and shifting into the next phase of production. As for the premiere date, we’re still guessing either March or April.
