‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Is love in style for Ashley Salter, Chris Soules?

Bachelor -While we’ve been high on some contestants on “The Bachelor” this coming season, it’s pretty easy to be worried about Ashley Salter at the moment. Not much may be known about her right now, but what is suggests that she will be in some trouble in the early going this season.

We’re going to have some more on that soon, but first, a quick reminder that nothing in this or any other spotlight we’re doing for Chris Soules’ season is a spoiler. Read with confidence! All of this information comes either from her ABC bio, or what we were able to uncover online.

Age – 24

Hometown – Brooklyn, New York. Probably as far away from an Iowa farm as you can possibly get. Given some of her interests are very pro-New York like “Sex and the City,” we don’t know if she would want to live away from there.

Occupation – Hair stylist. The good news when it comes to this is that towns everywhere need hair stylists. Also, it’s not a job that immediately screams “here for fame.”

Bio highlights – In ABC’s press release for the premiere, they claim that “Ashley S. feels the pressure and her nerves get the better of her” before the Rose Ceremony. That doesn’t sound great, but then again, we’ve seen some contestants recover from this (remember the wedding dress?) and make it very far.

Positives – She does not give out too much information in her bio, and she seems to be off social media at the moment. Therefore, Ashley’s story in the context of the show is fairly enigmatic. What we can say is that she does seem to care deeply about family.

Negatives – Obviously, being nervous and overwhelmed the first night makes her a big risk to keep, since if she is already freaking out, what will happen come the second or third week when feelings start to get involved? Also, we feel like she would totally be a fish out of water in Chris’ world even more so than anyone else we’ve spotlighted.

Prediction – This feels to us almost like a Jenna, one of those people who the Bachelor will want to give another shot to after a rough takeoff. Still, we don’t see this relationship lasting more than three episodes.
