‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ video: The art of visuals
One of the best things about “American Horror Story: Freak Show” is that you really get a sense almost from start to finish that the crew is completely invested. Whether you are talking about the lighting, the sound, the set, or the costumes, everything feels like it would for the era. The only thing that is anachronistic is the music, and that was a deliberate move.
In the video below via FX, you can see a look behind the scenes at the show, especially when it comes to producing one of the most important pieces of the entire set: The circus banners. These are at the front of the circus, and serve as a reminder of what is inside. After all, you want to give consumers debating about whether or not to enter the freak show a chance to really step into it.
The unfortunate thing these days when it comes to the show is that some of these characters are already gone from the series. Specifically, we are talking about the Bearded Lady (Kathy Bates), who was killed by Elsa (Jessica Lange) at the beginning of this past episode. Most of the other regulars are still alive, but who knows how long that is going to last?
Moving forward, all we really want for the show is a chance to see as many different storylines intertwined as possible. This means potentially a chance to see Dandy more around Jimmy and the other characters, and a sense of Stanley getting closer to his final endgame.
