‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: A few more Harry Hamlin details
When “Law & Order: SVU” returns on Wednesday night with the new episode “Pattern Seventeen,” you are in turn going to get a good opportunity to find out about Harry Hamlin’s character, and just what he brings to the show.
For now, the information that has been concerned here is that this character has some significant ties working alongside Rollins (Kelli Giddish) in Atlanta, and when she returns to some of her old stomping grounds, there are some significant problems that end up arising.
So how does showrunner Warren Leight describe the relationship that the two characters share? Without giving away too much, he does pass along the following message in a chat with TV Guide:
“[It’s] complicated. I wouldn’t call it good … I think she was popular in Atlanta, but not in a way she wanted to be.”
When you look at this sort of statement, it does feel pretty clear that we are going to see an intriguing story, but we’re not going to get much of a definition for the time being when it comes to Hamlin’s character … including whether or not his interest in Rollins was romantic.
What is nice to hear, though, is that we will for sure see more of Harry this season. Therefore, there is no need to worry on the subject of whether or not he is going to have a further role to play in the story.

Is anyone shocked that it looks like Harry Hamlin’s character raped Amanda Rollins? Will She be able to put him away when they have the first new episode in January? I’m betting that She won’t. Her whole sexual history will come out, and it will turn out that she’s been with a lot of other people, which will hurt the case. Would anyone be surprised if Harry Hamlin becomes Amanda’s “Beast”, like Pablo Schriever was Olivia’s? I guess it depends how far Julie Martin and Warren Leight want to take this. Stay tuned.

Would it be a shock to find out that everybody in Atlanta was trying to bed Det. Amanda Rollins? Really? It would be more sad to find out that so many of her colleagues took advantage of her, or that She was so impressionable that she was willing to do whatever they wanted, which probably meant sex. It would also be sad to find out if her colleagues used the fact that She has a gambling problem to get her to sleep with them. I may be in the minority, but it goes without saying that Kelli Giddish must be re-signed.

What would be good to see from SVU for the future? How about the show being renewed in the next 2 months? Everybody being re-signed to new 4 year deals paying them decent money(especially Kelli Giddish). A promise from NBC that they will add,(not cut money) from SVU like they have been doing since Season 12. More stories centering on Kelli Giddish, Ice-T and Danny Pino instead of everything being Mariska, Mariska, Mariska. The possibility of bringing back Dann Florek ,Richard Belzer and Donal Logue for an occasional episode. How about a SVU: LA with Chris Meloni, Richard Belzer, Stephanie March or Diane Neal, and maybe Adam Beach(all people who were popular in the first 12 years of regular SVU)? I’m probably asked for too much already.
