Marvel confirms Krysten Ritter – ‘AKA Jessica Jones’ casting
Not long after it was first reported that Krysten Ritter had landed the lead role in the upcoming Marvel series “AKA Jessica Jones” on Netflix, we are now coming to you today with the official confirmation.
The comic-book giant tends to like to announce things in their own way when it comes to their products, and therefore, we had an official release today. In a statement, here is what Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Teleivion and an executive producer on the show, had to say about getting Ritter on board:
“Krysten Ritter has the type of range, spanning the comic to the tragic, that makes for the stuff of the best Marvel heroes … As Jessica Jones, Krysten will bring one of the most beloved new characters of the past decade to life in a way we know will delight her longtime fans and introduce her to many more.”
Want of the really cool things about Marvel’s decision to bring this character to the small screen is that it allows for an opportunity to really see more and more of the new generation of comics on the screen, and hopefully introduce them to audiences who are a little bit in the dark. We do feel like now is one of the better generations of comics out there, though it may not always seem that way given the lack of discussion that is going on about them.
There is no official date yet as to when new episodes will begin streaming, but if there is one thing we can tease, it is the year 2015. At some point then, this show will be available.
