‘The Originals’ season 2 winter finale spoilers: On the Klaus / Hayley reunion with Hope

Klaus -You have been forced to wait for a good while to see the upcoming “Originals” winter finale entitled “The Map of Moments,” but based on everything that we are seeing and hearing about this special right now, early indications suggest one simple thing above all others: This is going to be worth your time.

For one, you’re going to get a chance to really see Baby Hope back with her parents again! While this is great news for Klaus and Hayley, there are huge problems with it still courtesy of Esther’s presence in this world, her endgame, and her generally just being one of the most horrible people ever.

So how are Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin’s characters going to handle this? This is something that executive producer Michael Narducci discussed at length as a part of a new interview with TV Guide:

“It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for since the end of last season when Auntie Bex (Claire Holt) had to take the baby into hiding and the world had to believe that the child is dead. But now that Esther has been able to take them down and they’re on the run, the whole family has reunited in a safe location, and they need to have a big family discussion about what is the best thing to do to protect the baby and take down Esther. So it’s a happy reunion, everyone is safe and healthy, but it’s also the eve of a great and challenging battle. What do they do to prevent their mother from finding about this baby? If that advantage were taken away from them and if Esther knew the baby was alive they’d be in a lot of trouble so they’ll have to work hard to figure out what to do.”

Are you excited to see how this unfolds? We are, even though we are already very much aware that Rebekah’s time on the show is most likely going to be a brief one. Maybe she appears later this season, but nothing is known for sure right now.
