NBC’s ‘Constantine’ episode 8 preview: John’s sacrifice; a major secret

Before we say too much else right now about next week’s new episode of “Constantine,” we should start this article off with what is a minor programming note: There is a title change!

Previously, this episode was entitled “The Saint of Last Resorts: Part 2” for some reason, which made no sense whatsoever unless the show was trying to do something quirky and have a part 2 without a part 1. Well, that has been corrected, and the NBC show’s official page has this listed now merely as “The Saint of Last Resorts.”

Now, on to the story. John Constantine is going to have to do everything that he can to protect the most innocent of children unspeakable evil, but he may have to make some huge sacrifices in order to do so. Also, expect this episode to be an enormous one for the Zed character, as she sees a certain part of her past, and a secret, come to light. Take a look at the episode’s official synopsis below:

“A call from Anne Marie (guest star Claire van der Boom), a member of the fateful Newcastle crew, sends John (Matt Ryan) and Chas (Charles Halford) to Mexico City and brings them closer to the source of The Rising Darkness. Meanwhile, Zed’s (Angélica Celaya) past comes back to haunt her.”

Does this sound interesting to anyone else? We are hopeful that it will continue the forward momentum established by the last few hours, which have really brought a great deal of fun, action, and most importantly strong performances to the table. Matt Ryan is getting better and better in this role every week.
