‘CSI: Cyber,’ Vince Gilligan / David Shore’s ‘Battle Creek’ premiere dates announced
CBS is starting to make their midseason picture all the clearer, and with that, we now have a little more knowledge in regards to when a few of their shows are going to be coming back on the air.
What is interesting to us is that despite looking like it was initially leaving the schedule to make way for its spin-off, it actually “Battle Creek,” a product of Vince Gilligan’s (which is now being run by David Shore) that will receive the Sunday night – 10:00 p.m. Eastern timeslot starting on March 1. The good news for this series is that it will not be burdened by any frequent delays by the NFL or anything else. It’s the good Sunday timeslot that “CSI” failed to have this season.
Meanwhile, “CSI: Cyber” will premiere on Wednesday, March 4, and will bump off “Stalker” until later in the season. Given that this Kevin Williamson drama has failed to make a huge splash, it wouldn’t shock us if the show ends up being shelved in some way if Patricia Arquette and company perform better. We don’t expect “CSI: Cyber” to be a huge hit, but the franchise has a familiar name, and there may be enough of a twist on the formula here to give it some staying power. Overall, we shall see.
CBS is already in the midst of their midseason schedule, with “The Mentalist” taking the place temporarily of “The Good Wife.” We’re going to be figuring out a little more about what they have in store hopefully in the coming weeks.
