ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Katie Lowes teases new version of Quinn

Throughout the fourth season of “Scandal,” we saw a slightly different side of the Quinn character. Mostly, we saw her try to be the glue keeping Olivia Pope and Associates from falling apart. With Olivia preoccupied with Jake and Fitz and Huck trying to reconnect with his family, who else managed to keep the lights on? This is a different character than we’ve seen in the past.

Then again, there are also a few remnants of the past that we saw with Quinn throughout this season, and those will continue to rear their head. For some evidence of that, just take a look at what star Katie Lowes had to say to The Hollywood Reporter:

“The season four Quinn is stronger and braver, but I like to think that the Quinn of season one that remains is that she’s still a hopeful person … I think she still wakes up and thinks she can solve the case and fix Huck. She’s still an optimist. You know how in season one when Olivia said Huck was her stray dog? Now that Huck has been preoccupied with his own family drama, Quinn has stepped up to being Olivia’s protector and Olivia’s keeper.” 

While Quinn may continue to look after Huck and everyone else, will she eventually fall apart? That is what we are hoping does not happen, but we have to consider it still as some sort of possibility.

The only thing that we really want for Quinn above all else, though, is that she continues to find a way to be critical in the story. Sometimes, she drifted a little more in the background than we would have liked this past season.
