‘The Mentalist’ season 7, episode 2 preview: Another stage of Lisbon’s mission

On Sunday night’s new episode of “The Mentalist,” things are going to be rather complicated for Teresa Lisbon. How much so? Well, the sneak peek below shows that her undercover mission is going to be based on so much more than just prison.

In this preview, Robin Tunney’s character has an encounter while in a convenience store with a potential criminal, and this is something that leads to some awkward moments for sure. Granted, Lisbon is also a pro, and she is not going to let her anxiousness over being in this situation keep her from doing her job. She’s just too good at what she does to let it have any impact at all.

With that being said, there is one question about this particular story that continues to haunt our mind: How long do you think that Patrick Jane is going to be okay with having his new girlfriend gone before he gets involved? Maybe he has evolved since getting into a relationship, but in the past, this has not been the sort of guy who has really chosen to keep quiet anytime that there is something going on that he feels is important.

This will be the second episode of what is potentially the final season, and the one thing that we hope for is ratings consistency. It may be hard without some of the aid of NFL football, but this is a show that deserves the love. Plus, we wonder if someone could reconsider its future if it continues to pull in numbers better than other CBS series out there.
