‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ episode 9 preview: Evan Peters, Emma Roberts act out
We’re not going to lie and pretend like we thoroughly enjoyed tonight’s all-new episode of “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” mostly because we found the majority of it to be disappointing, and not exactly what we were hoping to be seeing this season. We lost another character, and in a way that really did not suit the level of her talent.
Now, we are moving next week into “The Fat Lady Sings,” which is a title probably referencing our new addition to the show tonight. Want to get some basic details in terms of what to expect? Let the synopsis, which contains some specific teases, be your guide:
“In the wake of a tragic loss, Jimmy sinks into a drunken despair. A reading from Maggie spurs Dandy to action. Stanley and Elsa track down the Twins.”
We hope that the “action” from Dandy is enough to really get this show accelerating to another level, since almost everything tonight felt like it was moving at a glacial pace. After watching “Sons of Anarchy” this week, maybe our expectations for FX shows have just been raised. Or, maybe we feel like the story of this season does not actually live up to its great premise.
Regardless, there are two more episodes this month, and maybe this will mark an opportunity for the show to really turn things around after dealing with a little bit of a struggle.
