‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7, episode 13 (series finale) preview: Charlie Hunnam and ‘Papa’s Goods’
You have waited and possibly have even dreaded this moment for a long time on “Sons of Anarchy,” and next week, the brutal conclusion to Kurt Sutter’s opus on FX is finally going to be at an end with “Papa’s Goods.”
What can we tell you right now? It will run at least two hours without a doubt, though the exact run time is hard to figure due to “Anarchy Afterword.” Also, we know who is not going to be a part of it due to the body count from tonight’s “Red Rose.” The irony there was that the end for Juice and Unser was sparked by their own loyalty to something, which may not have always been the right thing.
As for Gemma, her death was almost foregone the moment that Jax realized the implications of keeping her alive. Killing his own mother may not have been something he wanted to do, but he ultimately felt that it was something that he had to do.
How will the series end? We don’t presume a happy ending for Jax Teller; instead, we wonder just how the story will conclude for him. We don’t expect it to satisfy all. As a matter of fact, it will be a success even if it satisfies some.
Above all else, we envision that the theme of the series finale will be one thing: Legacy. What does Charlie Hunnam’s character want to leave behind? Is there anything that he can leave behind? “Papa’s Goods” relates back to JT, and what he tried to do so many years ago. Now, Jax is clearly the opposite of that hopeful vision.
What do you think is coming on the series finale of “Sons of Anarchy”? Now is the time to share your thoughts in the comments.
