NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Did #VoiceSave help Chris Jamison, Ryan Sill, DaNica Shirey, Luke Wade?
Going into the night, iTunes results made one thing pretty clear: Matt McAndrew, Damien, and Taylor John Williams were not going anywhere. They were all in the top 10, and therefore received that multiplier that changes things for the competition. Only one more artist would be safe, and early returns suggested it was between Chris Jamison and Craig Wayne Boyd as to who would receive the honor.
The results played out as expected, and the final artist saved alongside Matt, Damien, and Taylor was Craig. While Chris charted slightly higher than Craig last night, we thought that the country vote would be pretty strong with him.
Here’s our quick-take on some of the performances.
DaNica – Excellent take on “I’d Rather Go Blind.”
Luke – Forgettable on “Stand By Me.”
Ryan – Completely “meh” on “Heaven.” He can sing, but the emotional connection just is not there quite yet.
Chris – Solid on “Georgia on My Mind.”
If we were going for this performance alone, we’d say DaNica. However, if we were going based on the entire season, we’d give it to Chris. That’s who we gave our tweet to tonight, and Chris was the one who advanced! We felt this was the right choice overall, but we’re not going to lie that it was a bummer that we lost the only woman left in the competition.
