‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: What major villain is poised to return?

He made a promise that he would take down Oliver Queen and destroy everything that he loved, so could it be time for him to make good on that?

While details are sketchy, MTV confirmed today that Manu Bennett will return for the upcoming 14th episode of this season of “Arrow” in the role of Slade Wilson. What we should make clear here is that there is no confirmation that Slade is returning in the present. The last we saw the character, he was put into what we believe to be a high-security version of the hatch from “Lost” back on the island. He should be kept away from everyone there, though to be fair there are some who do know of his location.

Could Slade be Sara’s killer? That seems to be reasonably unlikely, since her reaction on that rooftop would have probably been different were that to be the case. The only Slade we would be really happy to see right now is one in the past, maybe to further inform us about what was going on between him and Oliver during the days of Hong Kong. There is such a thing for letting certain stories linger here and there, and we just had Deathstroke last season. There is not enough attention as it is placed on Ra’s al Ghul and Malcolm Merlyn, so adding another Big Bad to the mix right now would be a mistake.

Part of what keeps the Slade story interesting to us is mostly that it seems impossible that the character is gone forever. He is far too popular a character on this show, and Bennett has a huge fan base who would love to see him back.
