NBC’s ‘The Voice’ spoilers: Taylor John Williams, DaNica Shirey, Luke Wade song choices

The Voice -The top eight on “The Voice” are hitting the stage Monday, and we can at least give you now a little more information on one key subject: What everyone will be performing among the remaining artists.

We’ve been pretty hard on the contestants and the show this season for choosing pretty tired numbers that have been killed on other singing shows, but for the most part, we feel at least like the show is trying to be different this time. You got to admire that.

For reference, these song choices were compiled via iTunes courtesy of Mjsbigblog.

Taylor John Williams (Team Gwen), “Royals” – The Lorde song is a little odd, and therefore probably a good choice for him. It’s been covered a ton on YouTube, though, so there’s probably more pressure to make it great.

Ryan Sill (Team Gwen), “Open Arms” – Really? One of the weak choices. You have a young, hip artist with fans his same age, and you give him a Journey song? Gwen is the Will Schuester of coaches.

DaNica Shirey (Team Pharrell), “These Dreams” – We haven’t heard this song in years. Love it, though. We hope that she really rocks it out and continues to last for another week just for the nostalgia alone.

Matt McAndrew (Team Adam), “The Blower’s Daughter” – Admittedly, we didn’t know the Damien Rice song. It’s a bold choice for that reason. It is also the first slow song like this that Matt has performed.

Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake), “Take It Easy” – He just showed his country side; now, it’s time for rock. This should work well for all classic rock fans out there.

Damien (Team Adam), “Someone Like You” – The other bad song choice. Why is Damien just going out and doing a super-big ballad every week? He’s showing that he is a great singer, but not anything else.

Chris Jamison, (Team Adam), “Sexual Healing” – We’re not 100% on this one, but a Twitter source claims that this is the song. It’s a bold choice, but maybe a little too much for this show’s voters.
