‘Madam Secretary’ episode 12: What is the return date for Tea Leoni, cast?
If you enjoy CBS’ “Madam Secretary,” hopefully you really enjoyed the new episode airing on the network tonight! Let’s hope it is strong enough to really withstand the lengthy amount of time you’re going to be waiting for the next installment.
Based on the information that we have seen (per the Futon Critic), the twelfth episode of this season is going to be airing come Sunday, January 4. This seems to be around the right return date for the show, given what we know about the way the CBS schedule tends to work. They like to air new episodes of shows at some point early in the year, and after a brief little swap over the coming weeks with “The Mentalist” and “Undercover Boss,” Sunday is going to see the schedule return more to form.
What we are going to be personally interested to see early next year is just how some of these shows actually fare without having to deal with some of the frustrations related to NFL football. After all, there have been very few episodes of “Madam Secretary” this season to actually air at the designated start time of 8:00 p.m. Eastern. This will happen more early next year, and that can give us a better sense of if Tea Leoni and company will stick around.
Right now, we would classify the show firmly as on the bubble. Its numbers in the 18-49 demographic are not great, and that alone may suggest to CBS that they are not going to suddenly rise for a second season. On the flip side, there are a ton of people who watch this show regularly, and if they opt to care more about total viewers than the ages of many of them, it will probably stay put.

I hate football, and occasionally watch 60 minutes, and Love Madam Secretary. Why in the world CBS puts a top show following football when the scheduled start time is rarely accurate is BS. I can not even record it because when I do, I lose the last 10 to 30 minutes. That’s bull$hit. And quit this BS 18-49 demographic….I am just as much of a viewer as I was when I was in the demographic.

Too bad there aren’t enough shows like Madame Secretary to replace every “reality” show.

Love this show. All the characters are exceptionally believable and the story lines have been excellent. I sure hope this show continues. I hate that it is on Sunday. All the Sunday shows get messed up because of football. It is not the fault of the shows that they are not viewed. I TIVO all my shows, but I still sometimes have to watch missed shows on my iPad. Maybe it should be on another day.

I, too, love “Madam Secretary,” and heartily dislike football. Get a clue, CBS!

Love this show; it is my favorite. Very well done and not overly political–even though about politics. Sure hope it stays around.

Madam Secretary is one of my top shows. Leave it to CBS to make it difficult to watch by placing it in a time slot to compete with lengthy football games. CBS has a tendency to hobble their own hits, it’s happened before. I am really over their age crap since they seem to forget that baby boomers are great in numbers and they spend money and in many cases are still SUPPORTING the 18 to whatevers who can’t afford their own place in this economy. The narrow minded way networks decide which shows to keep and which to cancel is disgusting. If it were up to them they would have a string of abysmal quality, cheap to produce “reality” shows.

Madam Secretary is one of the best shows of the new season. Who cares what 18 year old viewers watch. The writers on this series have done a great job making this believable. My tv will be off on Sunday nights til January. Who wants to see Undercover Boss anyway. That show is so fake. Get thjat garbage off the air and bring us more entertainment like “madam”.

Well at least I know I can turn off my tv till January. Other than Blue Bloods and Person of Interest all the rest of the reality crap and fluff as well as the liberal talking heads is not worth my time. Too bad we don’t really have men of character like Commissioner Reagan or people with integrity like Madame Secretary.

The 18-49 has interest in topics presented in more than sound bites? Do they watch TV on Sunday nights if its not football? “Madam Secretary” is for grownups anyway. It’s too well written to stick around like a NCIS clone.
