NBC’s ‘The Voice’ rankings: Craig Wayne Boyd, Chris Jamison, and Matt McAndrew square off
We’re starting to really dig this season of “The Voice,” at least when it comes to the competition at the top. We don’t necessarily think there is a whole lot of drama going into the top tier of contestants, but within that group, there are many possible winners who all bring quite a bit of good stuff to the table.
We’re trying to take all of the following into consideration for our latest contestant rankings: Performance quality, iTunes sales, screen time, online presence, and coach popularity. All of these are the factors that have played a big role in the past.
8. Ryan Sill – Clearly, the young guy has many fans on Twitter, but eventually the #VoiceSave is not going to keep him alive any longer. Clearly, he has the lowest total of actual votes of the remaining contestants.
7. Damien – He’s a great singer, but we’re starting to feel he is a little too one-dimensional as a singer. Compared to the other members of Team Adam, what is in his bag of tricks?
6. Luke Wade – Probably the biggest sleeper in the competition right now. He recovered well from an off week on this past performance show, and we could see him sneaking his way into the top four if he keeps this up.
5. DaNica Shirey – As the only woman left this season, there is probably advantages and disadvantages to that. She will definitely stand out more, but probably also will have more pressure on her. She’s a tremendous singer, but needs better songs chosen for her.
4. Taylor John Williams – This man to us remains a mystery wrapped inside of an enigma. We have no idea where to put him, but he has been consistently solid if not spectacular, and has performed well for Gwen Stefani on iTunes.
3. Chris Jamison – This is where things get very interesting to us. We’ve really loved the momentum that Chris has built up over the past two weeks; we actually like his version of “Jealous” more than the original. We just have to see if that can be sustained.
2. Matt McAndrew – He had a huge hit on iTunes with the Hozier cover, and for that, we’ll keep him over Chris for now … but the race is tightening. What we’d be the most concerned about for these guys is that they, as Team Adam members, could cancel each other out voting-wise at the end of the season.
1. Craig Wayne Boyd – Craig’s top position right now is for a few simple reasons. He’s had a number of excellent performances, and it’s almost like that makeover from Gwen Stefani woke a sleeping dragon. Also, he’s coming off a monster hit on iTunes, and he is the only remaining artist for Blake Shelton. This alone to us means that he is going to get the votes of all of Blake’s fans.

I just dont get why Chris is still there! I think every single one of the top 10 should still be there instead of him. I understand that its just my opinion, but I have never been so puzzled about any of the contestants, and I am usually right on the money about the top 5. It has really made me question the validity of the show.
