‘Glee’ season 6: When could first trailer with Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, cast be released?

Earlier this month, Fox went ahead and made one important announcement official: If you love “Glee,” you should be aware that the next season of the musical comedy will be released come Friday, January 9 with a two-hour episode.

Now that this news is out there, it is only fitting that it is time for another important question to be raised: When is the first promo / trailer for the final season coming out? While Fox clearly does not have a lot of ratings confidence in the show (it’s hard to imagine it hitting many home runs on Friday nights), they’re still at least going to make an effort to promote it. They really have to, since this show, despite going out commercially with a whimper, is one of its most significant shows of the past decade.

By this time in a few weeks, odds are that you will be seeing the first clip of the show. A good comparison here would be to “The Bachelor” and “The Celebrity Apprentice.” These two shows both are premiering in early January, and they each recently released some of the footage from their seasons. We know that one of the reasons we are still waiting on “Glee” may be post-production, but we also think a certain element of it is not wanting to promote the show too early, and then have viewers forget throughout the holiday season.

Creatively, we hope that the show will go out with a bang. Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) are most likely going to be front and center, but most of the show’s important characters over the years will be returning at some point. Expect a story geared around arts education (like we saw in the early days), but also one that still gives you a reason to have hope for the characters’ futures.
