‘Madam Secretary’ episode 11 preview: Can Elizabeth take on the White House?

While we were slightly unsure about “Madam Secretary” during its first few weeks of the season, this show is ultimately doing the same sort of thing that many other shows in its position does: It took a little bit of time to get going, and discover more of what is ultimate identity should be. We prefer it a little more when it is in the vein of “The Good Wife”: While seeing some of the home life may be important, it is much more interesting in the secondary position, behind finding out some more information about what is going on with Elizabeth at work.

Well, expect the fall finale coming up to be a big episode for her, as she is taking on her most formidable opponent yet: The White House. In an attempt to get answers, she is going to press hard, and potentially face some tough consequences as a result. Basically, we feel like the bigwigs are getting much more than they bargained for when they first decided that they were going to bring her in.

Will there be a satisfying conclusion, or a big cliffhanger? We’re hoping for somewhere in the middle. Elizabeth tracing the past of the Secretary of State position is a fascinating story, and that is something that we don’t necessarily want to see end. It doesn’t always have to be at the forefront, though, so it can be set aside for a time.
