NBC’s ‘Grimm’ season 4, episode 6 review: Is Nick a Grimm again?
At the end of last week’s new episode of “Grimm,” we had a pretty big revelation on the part of Nick: In order to really do his best work, he needed to carry the torch and become a Grimm again.
So did that actually happen again? For most of the episode, we weren’t quite sure. After all, not having them is an interesting creative twist for the show, since it shakes up the dynamic and forces him and Hank to figure out other ways to solve problems.
However, in the end this ended up being the classic early-season TV twist, the kind where you see a shake-up in the early going, and then a reversion back to the normal and expected once you get a few episodes into the run.
At least the transformation back had its funny moments, including Nick forcing himself to be unfaithful, and some of the reactions that came along with that. Awkward? You better believe it.
In addition to all of this, the scenes of him finding out that he had his second-sight back near the end were certainly great. Nick being back is a game-changer for the rest of the season, and it also to boot seems to be precisely what the fans wanted.
With this in mind, almost the rest of the episode blends together, so much so that every detail is hard to recall. Still, we say that, and yet this was the best episode of the season. Maybe so much of this is due to not just the Nick twist, but also the way that it was specifically executed.
