‘Sherlock’ season 4: Mark Gatiss pokes fun at Benedict Cumberbatch photo blunder

Sherlock season 3While the BBC may not be releasing a whole lot right now when it comes to the fourth season of “Sherlock,” they were kind enough to share something very specific: An official photo featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman!

However, there is something that you should know right now: The photo is not the first photo that was released by the network. You can see that first one HERE.

Looks great, doesn’t it? Well, there is a major problem here in the form of Benedict’s shoulder, which has gone conspicuously absent. Did you really think that these characters were going to look so great at the same exact time? Well, you thought wrong! This is PhotoShop at its finest to put these two in the picture perfectly, but at least Gatiss has a pretty good sense of humor about it. There’s really not much else you can do after a gaffe like this.

Let’s hope that there is nothing else that is on this same level of awkwardness moving forward … but then again, we’ll take more gaffes if it means more “Sherlock” news coming up sooner rather than later. There is no premiere date yet for this big special, but we would say for the time being that Christmas 2015 is currently the favorite to land this big event.

With that being said, it’s hard to speculate too much when you remember that this big event has not even been filmed yet. That will take place at some point early next year.
