‘Downton Abbey’ season 5 Christmas Special spoilers: Full casting news!

While today may be Thanksgiving in America, why not take a look ahead at what is coming up on Christmas? The “Downton Abbey” Christmas Special will be airing on ITV, and while Americans may be waiting until later in 2015 to watch this, we figure that it will be worth it.

The network announced this week the full list of guest stars for this big episode, and it includes quite a few notable characters. Alun Armstrong is going to be appearing in here as Stowell, the butler for the Sinderbys. You’re going to be seeing this entire family again, which should not be much of a surprise at all given that this entire episode is meant to give you a sense as to who these people, and in-laws to the Crawley family, really are. This also could be a glimpse into Lady Rose’s future, given that rumor has it that Lily James will leave the series after this episode.

Meanwhile, another notable casting is Jane Lapotaire as Princess Irina, the wife of Prince Kuragin. This is the man who Violet (Maggie Smith) had a secret past with, and at one point, even considered running away with. Ultimately, we imagine that this is going to be very interesting and then some…
