ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: Tony Goldwyn teases Fitz’s potentially-broken state

Fitz -Even though Fitzgerald Grant may be the President of the United States on “Scandal,” we have learned time and time again through his actions that this is not a man who has everything together. Quite the opposite. He loves a woman he is not with, and with the finale cliffhanger, he basically has an impossible choice: Try to save her, or declare war on West Angola and potentially danger the lives of others.

While morality may not be Fitz’s most-appealing attribute, he does still have a heart and feels pain. Therefore, this is a going to be a gut-wrenching situation for him when he finds out the truth about everything that is going on come the show’s big return to TV on Thursday, January 29. Tony Goldwyn basically admits such in a new interview with TV Guide:

“How much more can a man take? This will really test him. The stakes are unbelievably high and I can say that it will be scary.”

If this was the real world, we would admittedly be very worried that the man is going to have a spontaneous heart attack at any given moment, due to all of the stress that he is under. Luckily, that has not happened to him on the show, and it probably won’t. Instead, the question here for him is how he manages to find a way to be with Olivia, while at the same time leading his country and dealing with the public pressure that comes from such an immoral act as infidelity … if they were able to figure everything out completely.
