‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder on future for Bonnie, Damon
Is it even remotely possible that we could see Bonnie and Damon get together on “The Vampire Diaries” in the future? It is certainly at least a little more likely than what you probably thought before this season. There is obviously a huge history between the two characters in the books on which the show was adapted from, but it was really during some of the scenes earlier this season where the two actually evolved past hating each other most of the time.
So could this eventually evolve into … something more than this? While nothing seems to be close to confirmed right now, you can also not write it off completely if or when Bonnie returns to the present from that bizarre world she is stuck in with Kai. Speaking to TVLine on the subject, Ian Somerhalder makes it rather clear that this is hardly an impossible idea for the show to explore:
“There’s an extraordinarily thin line between love and hate. Due to the fact that these two hated each other, and had so many connections … it only seemed appropriate that they would be given a chance, due to the dynamics of their relationship.”
As for if we actually see such a pairing happening, the only real answer we can give you at the moment is that it all depends on what happens with Damon and and Elena. The feelings are still there to a certain extent between the two, but hers are not nearly as intense as they were … and she does not quite know if she can ever get those back completely.
There is no new episode of the series airing on The CW tonight, but if you head over to the link here right now, you can get some further coverage on Damon, Elena, and so many more.
