‘Orphan Black’ season 3 spoilers: ‘True Blood’ alum joins Tatiana Maslany series
As it turns out, this is going to be a rather busy few months when it comes to James Frain. We’ve already heard that the former “True Blood” actor was cast for a big role on “True Detective,” and he is also now officially joining “Orphan Black” alongside Justin Chatwin of “Shameless” for an arc.
As for who the actor will be playing, some details are scarce. The actor is going to play the part of Ferdinand, a “cleaner” of sorts who is extremely intelligent, and that is just one of the many tools at his arsenal. He is also incredibly charming, powerful, and can keep a secret to boot. We know that because he works within a mysterious company that tends to take no prisoners.
This seems on the surface like the perfect role for Frain and then some, mostly because we know him more than anything else for playing these sort of super-mysterious roles that have an element of danger to them. It’s also nice to see more people familiar with genre work already on the series. It gives it that extra layer of authenticity.
The third season of “Orphan Black” is currently filming in Toronto, and we definitely expect that the pressure is on the cast and crew right now. With the way that season 2 ended, you have to figure out somehow if you can up the ante.
There is no official premiere date for the third season just yet, but we imagine that it is going to be coming up in April.
