‘The Walking Dead’ season 5, episode 7 reaction: Norman Reedus on Daryl, Carol, Beth
Tonight, “The Walking Dead” aired an episode that was without question significant, but it is fair to also say that it sets the stage for something even crazier next week.
While you could argue that there are a few characters interested in saving Beth and Carol from the hospital, no one is more determined to do so than Daryl Dixon. These two women are probably the most important people in his life now, and the idea of facing a future without either one of them in it has to be completely terrifying.
This is something that Norman Reedus spoke on after the episode aired in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating that he was the one really pushing for the big decisions and to ensure that they can be saved. It’s been a part of his DNA now for a long time:
“I think he would do anything to get them back. He’s trying to be careful because of the situation but there are no lengths he wouldn’t go to. He’s always been like that, even with Sophia. He went the extra mile and Rick saying, ‘Wait for us, we’ll make a plan’ and Daryl says he’s better off on his own. You can’t really stop him. When the group needed baby formula, he just went for it. He’s balls out on everything and that also goes with matters of the heart. When he feels things, he really feels them.”
The one challenge for Reedus moving forward? Doing something that is anywhere near as awesome as what he did with that head near the end of tonight’s installment.
