Is ‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 or ‘Revenge,’ new tonight on ABC?

We’re getting into Thanksgiving week, and what that typically means more than anything else is trying your brace yourself for really more in the way of network repeats than ever before.

Tonight, we have something that goes beyond just the standard repeat airing on ABC, and that is a full-fledged preemption. Due to the American Music Awards storming the stage in hopes of getting big ratings, there are no new episodes of “Once Upon a Time,” “Revenge,” or “Resurrection.” This may be a bummer, but have no fear: All three shows are going to be back around next week. For the latter show, this is probably the worst news; after all, it has not aired in two weeks already, due to “Once Upon a Time” airing last week their big two-hour spectacular entitled “Smash the Mirror.”

Even when the shows do come back on the air, you probably are not going to be able to envision them being around for a long time then, either. “Once Upon a Time” concludes its fall run on December 14, and the other shows end a week before that. The reasoning here is mostly that “Revenge” and “Resurrection” are going to be airing new episodes in January, and therefore have more time to get their seasons out there. Meanwhile, “Once Upon a Time” will not be officially back until March.

If there is a big tease that we are going to be able to offer you for “Revenge” in particular moving forward, it is this: Things are going to get far crazier for David Clarke. As for “Once Upon a Time,” you can probably assume that the “Frozen” arc is going to be ending soon.
