‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5: Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, cast wrap filming

For all of those wanting some specifics when it comes to the exhausting nature of the “Pretty Little Liars” filming schedule, we can tell you today that after spending more than half of the year working on this show, the cast is officially wrapped for the fifth season. This means that Troian Bellisario, Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, and Shay Mitchell can finally get a little bit of sleep … after having a little bit of fun first and foremost at some of the wrap parties for the show.

This news was confirmed all over social media this week, and it is great news obviously for the actors who want to do some other things. “Pretty Little Liars” is not the sort of show that you can just book movies and other long-term gigs during, given that there are extremely long days, and even when you are not in every scene, there is preparation for something else coming. This is what happens when you make more than 22 episodes a season.

Interestingly, filming is finished just a few weeks before the big Christmas Special for the series airs on December 9, and that is around a month or so before the second half of the season premieres over on ABC Family. There is a whole lot to look forward to, and also a few surprises to go along with that.

For those who have somehow forgot, the network has already renewed this show for an additional two seasons, so even though the group may get an opportunity right now to take in a few quick months to rest and relax, they’ll be back on set in the spring for the upcoming sixth season.
