‘How to Get Away with Murder’ spoilers: Did Sam Keating really kill Lila Stangard?
Given that the title for “How to Get Away with Murder” is what it is, there is one thing that you should be very much aware of as the show enters some of the rest of its upcoming episodes: Almost everyone else could be on the chopping block at one point or another. There’s no one officially guaranteed safe, except for maybe Viola Davis since the idea of doing this show without her is pretty laughable.
Away from who is safe and who could die on the show, there is something else that you should be aware of: There is no official guarantee at the moment that Sam killed Lila Stangard. Speaking to TVLine after this past episode aired on ABC, show boss Pete Nowalk opted to refer to this as an “assumption” rather than something that is for certain a truth. There could be a little something more still to this mystery beyond what we know.
In addition to this, Nowalk also teased a little about how the show plans to change this up when it comes to the structure moving forward. Rather than making these flash-forwards into something that is going to continue with 100% certainty, the series is changing things up a little bit and not doing that for the sake of having more of them on here:
“We talked about [continuing the flash-forwards], but they just felt gimmicky. You never want to feel like you’re getting spoon-fed the same thing over and over again … We’ll continue to wonder what people know and when they know it. That’s what we’re always trying to challenge the audience with, that question. We won’t always understand characters’ behaviors, and within episodes going forward, we’ll flash back to something that helps the behaviors make sense.”
The next new episode airs on January 29, and maybe there will be something more when it comes to answers this. Just don’t expect a mountain of scoop to come pouring in between now and then.
