‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ episode 8 video: Gabourey Sidibe debuts

At some point, we knew that Gabourey Sidibe was going to have a further role on “American Horror Story: Freak Show.” She made a brief appearance via phone call already this season, looking to speak with her mother.

Unfortunately for her, what she did not realize is that Dandy Mott had already done away with the poor woman, who was responsible for trying to help raise the boy and keep him from becoming the horrific man that he is. We don’t think there is anything else that she could have done.

Given the way that Sidibe’s character turned out, we would say that Patti LaBelle’s character was a good mom. She is on her way to finding success, and is extremely well-educated and not afraid to confront those who she feels have wronged her. Unfortunately for her, she doesn’t realize that Gloria and Dandy are probably not the right sort of people to mess with. They’re evil in different ways; the former has her head in the sand, and the latter may very well be one of the most horrendous human beings on planet earth. It’s hard to think of anyone who is a whole lot worse right now, save for maybe Stanley being on around the same level.

We wonder how much of Sidibe we’re going to see moving forward, given that she does have another show on the docket in Fox’s “Empire.” It’s a little hard to multi-task between different dramas, especially since the Ryan Murphy one films in New Orleans, which is not exactly adjacent to many other sets.
