‘Top Chef: Boston’ spoilers: When is ‘Last Chance Kitchen’ premiering?
Let’s take a quick break in our regularly-scheduled coverage of “Top Chef: Boston” to pose a question that we ourselves have been pondering for a little while now: When in the world are we going to see more of the famed “Last Chance Kitchen” on the show?
Back when this twist was first introduced during the season set in Texas (yea, the one you probably don’t want to remember other than Paul), we at first wondered if it was going to break the format. However, since that point we have completely turned it around when it comes to the twist, and now love it. It allows us to have something more to watch, and Tom Colicchio is by and large one of the best judges on any reality show.
So far, though, the web series has been sorely missing, and we don’t really like this habit of it debuting a little bit later in the season the past two years. We almost wish that it started and ended earlier, that way the final winner still had to compete in a few more rounds of the regular competition before nearing the end.
What we will tell you is that December 10 is the date you’ll see “Last Chance Kitchen” for the first time this season. That is a little while to wait, and that part of this news stinks like a plate of cheese that has been in the fridge for way too long. Eight episodes of the show will have come and gone by then, and that leaves many candidates to fight to re-enter the kitchen.
The funny thing for now, though, is that we cannot name a single chef who was a surprise boot like we’ve seen in the past with a Louis or a Kristen, who actually went on to win her season in Seattle.
