‘Longmire’ season 4 notes: Robert Taylor’s message; Katee Sackhoff’s new gig

Did you really think that the “Longmire” coverage was going to stop after the renewal news was announced? Here’s the great news: It’s never-ending! While there may not be too much to write about at times between and when the show starts production in March, we’ll give you what we can, including what some of the cast members are up at other points of the year.

That is, at least for now, a pretty worthy segue to get us to the latest news when it comes to Katee Sackhoff. According to a new report coming in today from Deadline, the actress is going to be starring in the indie dramedy “Girl Flu,” which is actually in production as we speak. She will specifically play the stoner mother of a 12-year old girl who is in the midst of one of her worst weeks ever after she is abandoned by Sackhoff’s character.

The movie also features some other familiar TV names, including Judy Reyes of “Scrubs” fame, Jeremy Sisto, and former Old Spice Man Isaiah Mustafa. One of the good things about a show like “Longmire” is that there are chances to do this and other work, since the show only films a percentage of the year.

Robert Taylor’s message – Also, we share with you below the first reaction from “Longmire’s” Sheriff himself following the news that Netflix picked up the series this week. As you would expect, he is over the moon. Taylor was pretty optimistic about the show’s odds throughout the process, and that optimism transferred over to all of the fans.

Our friends over at the LongmirePosse Twitter account shared the fantastic message from Taylor below. Basically, it’s a reminder of why we love the actor and the show so much at the same time.
