‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6, episode 8 review: Stefan / Caroline, Damon / Elena talk it out; Bonnie’s hope
Going into Thursday night’s all-new episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” one of the biggest themes for the show was Thanksgiving. However, we surprisingly spent a whole lot of time dealing with other matters, with Jo’s past with Kai being a big part of that.
Through this story, we learned a good bit about the coven that locked this nasty guy away in the past, and also how Jo ended up being the person that she is now. Also, did Elena just convert her to a vampire?
On the Stefan / Caroline front, there were also plenty of stories in this hour that we imagine put a smile on many of your faces, as the two tried to rebuild a little bit of a friendship. She is one of many who did not invite Stefan to a “Friendsgiving,” which was comprised of Elena and many of her friends without a lot of the guys around.
After Damon, Stefan, and Alaric returned from Portland, there were some other moments for Elena and Damon, as well, as he expressed his gratitude for Bonnie allowing him the chance to come back to this world. He also told her that the two parties talked and talked about her when he was away, and she told him that she broke up with Liam … for a pretty obvious reasons.
So Elena and Damon still have feelings for each other, Caroline and Stefan could eventually, and there are still some reasons to worry about Kai still … but also hope for Bonnie’s future. This was a strong episode, even if nothing altogether shocking happened until Bonnie was abandoned at the end. Grade: B.
