Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’ Netflix series targeting ‘True Detective,’ ‘Arrow’ actresses, Krysten Ritter
While Marvel has already started on some of their Netflix collaborations in the form of their upcoming “Daredevil” series, they also have another one in the detective show “Jessica Jones” waiting in the wings.
While you may be waiting for a good while in order to see the series, the good news is that we can at least tell you right now some of the major contenders for the role. According to a new report from Deadline, the following four actresses are all currently in contention to take on the title part.
Krysten Ritter – She has a good comedy resume including “Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23,” but she showed her drama chops on both “The Blacklist” and “Breaking Bad.”
Jessica de Gouw – She already has comic connections, at least in that she plays the part of Helena / the Huntress on “Arrow.” It would be a little weird to us to see the same woman playing two different comic characters on different shows.
Alexandra Daddario – In addition to playing a memorable part as a Martin Hart mistress on “True Detective,” she has also been in the “Percy Jackson” movies.
Teresa Palmer – The least-known of the four actresses from a TV perspective, but she does have an extensive film resume including “Warm Bodies.”
If we had to pick a person right now for the part, we would probably say Ritter due to her ability to mix comedy and drama (great for a superhero show), and the quality of some of her past work. She also really needs to have a hit series after being so close a number of times. (She was only a guest on “Breaking Bad,” so it’d be strange to call that her show.)
