‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, episode 8 review: Kyle MacLachlan, Tim DeKay, and all sorts of intensity

Agents of SHIELD -Tonight, the latest episode of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” raised many questions, and many of them revolved almost exclusively around the search for the city. It was a race against time for SHIELD versus Hydra, and there were many intense conversations in tow. (Our personal favorite? Seeing Coulon go toe-to-tie with Skye’s father.)

This episode to us was all about the guest stars, and we love that not only do they have Kyle MacLachlan on board right now, but that he’s all sorts of evil. Plus, he has that questionable past that just amps up the drama to another level.

Of course, there were also quite a few Ward family issues, and we saw by the end of this episode the end to Tim DeKay’s character of the Senator. Sadness there. We knew that his time on the show was probably not going to be long; heck, he already lasted a week longer than we originally thought that he would.

For those looking for a happier time, just go spend some time with Bobbi and Lance! Clearly, these two know a way to break the tension a little bit.

This episode story-wise did progress us pretty close to Coulson and company finding the city, but it also featured Ward getting further away, and the overall level of danger rising. We still feel like we are in the calm before the storm, and that the most shocking things this season are still to come. Grade: B.
