‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ winter finales tease big shocks
ABC really wants you to know something about their Thursday-night lineup: They will shock you and send you right to your Twitter accounts.
Is there are a part of this #TGIT promotional campaign that is aggressively annoying? Sure, but in the end, you cannot really argue with success. “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” and “How to Get Away with Murder” have formed the most dominant lineup that the network has had in years. If it wasn’t for “The Big Bang Theory” peeking its way through over on CBS, they would probably dominate this entire lineup from start to finish, and it is easy to understand why. With these three Shonda Rhimes shows, ABC has been successful in being able to create an entire culture around their programming. As much as we really do want to hang out head low in shame for saying this, they really have created a brand out of the way in which they promote all of these. They convince you to watch them, and then talk about them constantly with your friends.
Of course, these shows are about to create some insanity for your Thursdays, courtesy of them no longer be on the air for a while. When will they return? Think along the lines of late January, when they will all start to get deeper into what happens next.
In the case of “How to Get Away with Murder” in particular, there are only going to be six more episodes. Expect this show to be coming to a close before spring even officially starts.
