‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Can Antonio keep his job?

With this “Chicago PD” article, we are not even going to begin to start to sit here and wonder about whether or not this story for Wednesday night’s new episode is original. It’s not. We cannot count how many times that we’ve seen a case on a cop show that could put someone’s job or life in jeopardy, as they have to clear their name from some wrongful charges. “NCIS: Los Angeles” did it earlier this season, and “Castle” has also done something similar recently.

With all of this being said, we did not come here to completely condemn an episode before it even airs. Even if this is not the most-original concept for a story in the world, that does not necessarily mean that the episode will be terrible. After all, Antonio is a fascinating, determined character, and there could be some cool things that could from watching him struggle to figure out how to escape this close-to-impossible situation.

The thing that “Chicago PD” has going for it with this sort of episode is that it really will play up the drama and the severity of this story more so than those other shows. For example, we would not necessarily guarantee that Antonio finds his way out of this unscathed. Even if he does manage to clear his name, there could still be some consequences that come in his direction, and we’ll just have to wait and see what those could be.
